Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell
Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell works on Gadigal land in Sydney, Australia. His practice is centered around clay and repurposing waste materials to immortalize place and explore object making in the contemporary world.
Remy trained at the National Art School and then completed an apprenticeship under Maya Micenmacher in La Borne, France. It was during this time in a traditional French potters village that he developed his love of woodfired domestic ware. In December 2021, he exhibited ‘The Baskets’, a body of work that explored the cultural practice of basket making as the vehicle to discuss archaeological records of the human experience. In 2023, he worked at Apparatu in Barcelona, a world leading ceramic design studio famed for collaboration with fashion houses like Hermes and Lemaire
Currently, Remy produces a range of pottery, furniture and sculpture that recycle waste materials from his surroundings. He aims to create ethically produced ceramic objects through sustainable practice
